The international conference Verdi's Third Century: Italian Opera Today, a collaboration between the American Institute for Verdi Studies and New York University, has brought together scholars, practitioners, and critics at NYU to discuss the circulation and perception of Verdi in today's world. It all started with 27, a documentary in progress on Verdi and his influence on Parma.

October 19 2013, 8:00 pm, at the New York City Centre (131 W. 55th Str.) ArtsLab OnStage will present a special evening of Italian theatre entitled Voices of Italy featuring a preview of T'Ammore, "The Spirit of Naples" and Belcanto, "The Luciano Pavarotti Heritage." Performers from T'Ammore and Belcanto will also be featured in this year's Columbus Day Parade with Live TV performances from the "Red Carpet".

A surprising new feature is offered by the the Met at the end of September. The “debut” of Italian subtitles will be held at the performance of the “ L'Elisir d'Amore” by G.Donizetti. The initiative is promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York
