Coincidentally, with the exhibition at the Frick Collection of Canova’s plaster model of the George Washington Statue and the photographic show at the Consulate General of Italy "Antonio Canova," by Fabio Zonta, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York presents another face of the Italian artist identity; 16 rare tempera paintings. We talked about it with the Director of the Institute Giorgio Van Straten. The exhibition "Canova e la Danza" will be on until June 28th.

This winter, Eataly NY and Chicago will be featuring a Tuscan theme throughout their stores in honor of the annual Carnival. The Italian Academy of New York’s Columbia University hosted a presentation on Alberto Tallone Editore, one of Europe’s most important publishing houses and typographic studios. The event was held on the occasion of Alexander Goren’s donation of his private collection of Tallone books. The New York philanthropist and businessman donated more than 400 books to Columbia’s Butler Library.

At the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, internationally acclaimed writer and Pulitzer Prize Award Winner of "The Hours"–Michael Cunningham–presented his lyrical lecture on the exceptional city of Matera (Basilicata). The American author visited the city in 2016 when he was invited by APT Basilicata (the agency that promotes tourism in that area).
