On October 18th Queens College and The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) inaugurated the first edition of the film festival IC-CUNY, part of a broader Made in Italy festival: Arts + Cultures also launched this year. The festival is an educational and research project housed at CUNY that aims at a deeper understanding of the art of Italian cinema, from its origins to the present. The festival sets out to involve students with local communities and bring awareness to the art of cinema and to the role of important archives and film restoration centers such as the Cineteca di Bologna, Italy.
