October 19 2013, 8:00 pm, at the New York City Centre (131 W. 55th Str.) ArtsLab OnStage will present a special evening of Italian theatre entitled Voices of Italy featuring a preview of T'Ammore, "The Spirit of Naples" and Belcanto, "The Luciano Pavarotti Heritage." Performers from T'Ammore and Belcanto will also be featured in this year's Columbus Day Parade with Live TV performances from the "Red Carpet".

Italian newspaper, La Nazione, initiated the idea of celebrating with a Global Toast to help promote 2013 summer events in Tuscany, the region's beauty and culture. New York celebrated with the Tuscan Association's president Joan Migliori, Niccolò Del Buffa and Consul General Natalia Quintavalle at Per Lei.

Life & PeopleIn a ceremony held at the Consulate General of Italy to New York on May 15, Ambassador of Italy Claudio Bisogniero awarded Princess Giulia Ghirardi Borghese with the rank of Knight on behalf of President Giorgio Napolitano. An active promoter of Italian arts and Culture, Borghese received this appointment for the exhibition "Paintings from the Accademia Carrara," held at the Italian Embassy to the US in Washington, DC.

Casa Belvedere, an Italian style mension, has become the new Italian Arts and Culture Center that seeks to preserve and promote the appreciation of Italian language, art, literature, history, fashion, cuisine, and commerce while also celebrating the Italian heritage and the contributions that Italians and Italian-Americans have made to the fabric of the United States.
