The Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society of Lincoln Center has unveiled the complete lineup for the 46th annual New Directors/New Films (ND/NF), March 15-26. Since 1972, the festival has been an annual rite of early spring in New York City, bringing exciting discoveries from around the world to adventurous moviegoers. Dedicated to the discovery of new works by emerging and dynamic filmmaking talent, this year¹s festival will screen 29 features and nine short films.

Perhaps more than any other painter, Sandro Botticelli (about 1445–1510) exemplifies the artistic achievement of Renaissance Florence in the 15th century. “Botticelli and the Search for the Divine,” organized by the Muscarelle Museum of Art at the College of William & Mary and Italy’s Metamorfosi Associazione Culturale, explores the dramatic changes in the artist’s style and subject matter—from poetic depictions of classical gods and goddesses to austere sacred themes—reflecting the shifting political and religious climate of Florence during his lifetime.

In 1942, Maria Grazia Antonia Cerulli, along with approximately 695,000  other  Italians citizens residing  in the  United States,  was designated an “enemy alien." As all Italians were wrongly seen as violent and potential Mafiosi, now all Muslims are suspected of being potential jihadists, and wrongheaded Americans think they need to be kept out of the USA.
