Spreading Art, Design and ‘Global Love’

D.V. (February 22, 2020)
Indixia presents Global Love, a love-themed exhibition and charity auction, in Chelsea’s Sundaram Tagore Gallery, featuring unique works by numerous international artists and designers with the goal to fund arts education in India and to help disadvantaged and disenfranchised women in Afghanistan to gain independence, education, and livable wages.

On February 13, the day before Valentine’s Day, Indixia, a “unique alliance between international supporters from the worlds of Fine Art, Design, Fashion, Cinema and Philanthropy, to support global non-profit initiatives,” organized a love-themed exhibition in Chelsea’s Sundaram Tagore Gallery.

The show featured a variety of artworks as well as luxury clothes, accessories, and jewellery generously donated by a series of artists including Gustavo Aceves, Michael Adams, Carla Beccari, Janette Beckman and Shepard Fairey, Giorgio Bevignani, Peter Drake, Veronica Fonzo, Velonica Gaido, Oriano Galloni, Bendy Ghelarducci, Jacquie Hacansson, Michael Haggiag, Bruce Helander, Todd James, Anna Minardo, Shalini Nopany, John Perry, Fulvio Pucci, Olga Radicchi, Flavia Robalo, Masha Rudenko, Mohammadreza Rezania, Giacomo Rizzo, Georgia Salvatici, Paola Tazzini Cha, and Hans Uder as well as brands AERA, Azada, Barking Irons, Bleecker & Prince, Burnett New York, Yiran Duan, Fiorentini + Baker, Gia Couture Firenze, Sherri Hill, Sutton Horger, Nicole Miller, Rocketbuster, and Zadig & Voltaire + Kate Moss.

And the proceeds of this glamourous soirée will go towards supporting two non-profit organizations: the International Institute of Fine Arts (IIFA), which Indixia will help in its mission to provide a private solution to chronic under-funding of arts education in India by funding 2 and 4 year scholarships to students in need; and Afghan Hands, a non-profit organization that supports disadvantaged and disenfranchised women in Afghanistan to gain independence, education, and livable wages through its educational centers located in and around Kabul. The beautiful hand-embroidered shawls and scarves crafted by the women there were auctioned off during the event in order to raise money to expand these centers.

The 2020 GLOBAL LOVE event supports the following non-profit organizations:

INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS - IIFA

Opp. State Bank of India (Main Branch), Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh 201204, India

IIFA is exceptional as a private solution to chronic under-funding of arts education in India. Unrivaled in India in its breadth of teaching of the Fine Arts: Painting, Sculpture, Design, Photography as well as Textiles, Fashion, Film, 3-D Animation, and Television studies.

IIFA Scholarship Program:

Dedicated 4-year merit based scholarships enable underprivileged students to attend IIFA. This vital program provides access to education, and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. For many young women this offers an escape from arranged marriages, and other pressing issues of gender inequality.

Supporting candidates in need of scholarship

Several students at IIFA require financial assistance for the rest of the two years of their BFA course. They have received AFI support from sponsors only for the first two years. In January a new group of scholarship candidates will be announced. INDIXIA will provide 2 and 4 year scholarships to needy students.
