On September 11th, at 4 pm, the Consulate General of Italy (690 Park Avenue), will host a ceremony in memory of the Italian and Italian-American victims of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks of 2001.
At the event, along with the victims' families, there will be the Ambassador of Italy to the United States Hon. Giulio Maria Terzi di Sant'Agata, American authorities and representatives of the Italian and the Italian-American communities.
The ceremony will take place in front of the sculpture at the entrance of the Consulate that was built in memory of the victims. In front of the same sculpture, back in 2007, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano had a touching meeting with the surviving families. The white marble bas relief sculpture was made in Italy by renown artist Antonio Manfredi.
The ceremony is being held to remember all the Italian and Italian-American victims of that historical day and to reinforce the already strong bond between Italy and the United States.
Media representatives are welcome to participate but they need to be accredited beforehand.
