Dine Italian While Running around New York!

On November 2, everybody in New York becomes an athlete. Whether sporty or fancy, lazy or active, people will always be ready to run for the Barilla Marathon Dining Tour. They will get a taste of the finest Italian pasta at the closest and favorite restaurant participating!

The Italian Consulate, New York Road Runners and Barilla will sponsor the Barilla Marathon Dinin Tour, an initiative taking place within the 39th Running of the Ing New York City Marathon.

Children, teens, adults, grandpas and grandmas, mothers-to-be, people of all ages, no matter who; they all can become those special athletes Barilla is dedicating the event to. All of them can gather in the nicest Italian restaurants spread through out the five boroughs and enjoy a Marathon themed dinner. Delicious Barilla pasta, shaped in every imaginable way, will be served to these Italian amateurs accompanied by the best traditional sauces.

This way our fellow citizens will also contribute to the NYC Food Bank [2]’s cause, since the former will receive one dollar in donations for every dinner sold from October 24 to November 2.

From October 20 to November 6, moreover, Food Emporium [3] will also be a great place to buy Marathon Sponsors’ products on discount, including Barilla Pasta, Emerald Nuts [4], Poland Spring [5], Coors Light [6]and New York Apple Association.

Shoppers will also have a chance to win great prizes, among which a Coors BBQ grill, an Emerald Nuts Energy Gift Basket, an ASICS marathon gear, New York Times [7] archived marathon photos or a $100 Food Emporium card.

During the Marathon the runners will enter Manhattan right where one of the stores of the chain is situated. It is the Bridgemarket one, located between 1st Avenue and 59th Street.

So, at home or out, no matter where, newyorkers can always have a bite of Italy whenever they please during this period.
